摘要：The present invention relates to a method for adjusting the acceleration of avehicle travelling along a route, comprising the steps of continuously detecting thepresence of speed-limiting features along the vehicle's route and, when speed-limitingfeatures are detected, of determining the acceleration required for reaching a prescribedtarget speed at such a detected coming speed-limiting feature. The method ischaracterised by the step of detecting the presence of external road users along thevehicle's route, involving determination of characteristics of such external road users,comprising vehicles behind, vehicles in front and/or lateral positions of such external roadusers, and the step of determining required acceleration involves the step of determiningbraking strategy taking the presence of such detected external road users into account.The present invention relates also to a system for adjusting the acceleration of a vehicletravelling along a route.
