1. rent用作名词时的意思是“租金”,转化成动词指“租用”,即将多余的房屋、土地或其他空闲物资以有偿的方式转借他人,待需要时再将其收回。可指租入,也可指租出,通常指租用土地或房屋,而在美式英语里也可指租用汽车等,但都不用于借钱。
2. rent可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,后接房屋、土地等名词作宾语,还可接双宾语,其间接宾语可转化成介词to的宾语。可用于被动结构。

1. rent可统一表示“租金”，既可作单数，也可作复数，如a rent表示“一项租金”，而rents则表示“多项租金”；
2. rental表示“租金的额度”，不分单项或多项。
